A room at the River's Edge Café Bed & Breakfast entitles you to these accommodations:
Back Porch: From the nook of a painted wooden back porch, watch the mist rise off the river while enjoying breakfast and birdsong or feel the evening drop round you as the sun blushes down below mountains to let stars flick quicksilver tips on river ripples.
Front Porch: From the painted wooden front porch, catch the morning sun coaxing the dew blanket off the garden to feathered song or collapse in a chair in the evening cool to allow the aroma voltage from the adjoining River's Edge Café to jolt you into dinner mode.
Kitchen: Settle into birdsong and garden scent at an antique wooden table to enjoy your complementary continental breakfast. From there, step onto the back porch to watch ducks, geese, kayaks, and canoes paddle the middle Youghiogheny while bicyclists pedal the Great Allegheny Passageway. A half-size refrigerator/freezer for drinks or snacks and a microwave are available as well as a coffeemaker, a teapot-and your country grandma's old-time porcelain sink for wash-ups.
Living Room: Under a hardwood ceiling, relax on mohair furniture surrounded by1930s antiques to share your full day of sporting or sightseeing with your adventurous housemates. Step out onto the front porch as dusk rushes in from the east or turn west to the river to watch the sun drop below mountaintops.
Meals: Breakfast A complementary continental breakfast of muffins, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, and tea waits for you to waken on the antique wood-burning stove in the kitchen and remains available until 11 am. Lunch & Dinner The adjoining River's Edge Café opens at 11 am for lunch and closes at 9 pm after dinner, which begins at 5 pm. Special Diets or Requests Notify us in advance, and we will happily cater to your special needs.
The Grounds: Stroll the paths around our establishment through gardens and trees. Wade, fish, or swim in the river where a stately sycamore bows to the west bank and ducks and geese quack for scraps. Rest on a bench and soak up the scenery. Close your eyes and breathe in the greenery. Feel your frustrations flow out your toes and drain down the riverbank, washed away with the wide waters.
